Crash Case Review & Analysis

Because a less than adequate job of investigating a traffic accident does occur, the wrong determination of cause and assigned liability can be made on a police report. Our investigators review all aspects of your case for errors to the police investigation, as outlined by the AUTCR (Alabama Uniform Traffic Crash Report) manual. We will also verify that the proper cause and/or liability was assigned. Our associates will use their extensive training and their thorough knowledge of the Alabama motor vehicle laws to ensure that the proper determination of cause and assigned liability is made based upon the circumstances indicated in the report and applicable laws.

Case review does not involve a visit to the crash site or a vehicle inspection; rather you provide a copy of the Alabama Uniform Traffic Crash Report, any available photographs, and any other documents. After a review of the furnished materials, an assessment and evaluation of the case will be provided. This is a vital service provided since our associates have detected several police reports that assigned “fault” to the wrong vehicle (client) which initially was considered for turning down the case but resulted in a case moving forward.

Crash Site Analysis

Crash Site Analysis provides information as to where critical events occurred and if roadway conditions/factors may have contributed to the crash. It is ideal to inspect a crash scene as soon as possible after a traffic crash to ensure that all relevant evidence is documented and preserved.

This includes roadway factors, pavement & shoulder conditions, friction evaluation, traffic control devices present, and weather conditions at the time of the traffic crash. An area canvass will also be conducted by our associates.

Area Canvass

An area canvass is an examination of the area where an incident occurred or other case locations in an attempt to locate potential witnesses and video surveillance that may have captured images.

This is important since potential witnesses can be overlooked or missed at the time of the incident. Video surveillance systems can be critically important to a case and must be located quickly. Most video surveillance systems are designed to be overwritten after a certain timeframe to save on video storage space. Our associates are trained in video recovery techniques from various surveillance systems.

Scene / Vehicle Photography

It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. We are pleased to offer a wide range of photography and videography services in digital format. Crash photography is invaluable in documenting evidence at the scene and on a vehicle. Through photo documentation, interested parties can be assured that evidence is not lost, destroyed, or overlooked. The photographs lend credibility to an investigator’s report, and they illustrate his / her conclusions, thus, their use in court proceedings is essential.

Vehicle Inspections

Our associates will examine the vehicles thoroughly for operational capabilities and compliance with applicable regulations and laws. These inspections will include inspection of the occupant compartment for signs of occupant contact, investigation of the restraint system for functionality and signs of usage, inspection for signs of vehicle component failure, and other aspects of vehicle evidence documentation include photographs of lamps, mechanical defects, tires, and view obstructions. The inspection will include photographs.

Driver / Occupant / Witness Interviews

Our associates are available to conduct interviews of drivers, vehicle occupants, and witnesses involved in your personal injury cases. Our associates have years of experience in investigations, and we realize that asking the “right” question can make all the difference in your case.
